Women's.

Iron, myo-inositol, and women-anchored formulations at studied doses.

Women's nutritional needs are distinct, and several Indian-population studies anchor the formulations. EX1's Women's catalog ships iron at the RDA in a gentle bisglycinate form, and myo-inositol at 3 g in the clinically studied 40:1 ratio with D-chiro-inositol, with documented support for ovarian function.

Why this category matters

Iron bisglycinate is iron chelated to two glycine molecules, supporting higher absorption with better gastrointestinal tolerance than iron sulphate or iron oxide.

NFHS-5 (2019-21) data documents anaemia prevalence among women aged 15 to 49 in India at 57 percent, with iron-deficiency the most-cited cause. A bioavailable iron form at the RDA, paired with Vitamin C as an absorption cofactor, supports steady ferritin coverage with less GI discomfort than lower-cost iron salts like ferrous sulphate or oxide.

NFHS-5 (National Family Health Survey, 2019-21) reported anaemia in 57 percent of women aged 15 to 49 in India, with iron-deficiency the leading attributable cause across age cohorts.

How to choose a women's supplement

  1. Iron should be bisglycinate, not sulphate or oxide

Sulphate and oxide are inexpensive but harsh on the gut at doses needed for ferritin coverage. Bisglycinate absorbs better and sits gentler.

  2. Pair iron with Vitamin C, not calcium

Vitamin C enhances non-heme iron absorption. Calcium competes with it. Time your calcium and iron doses several hours apart.

  3. Myo-inositol in the studied 40:1 ratio with D-chiro-inositol

The evidence anchor for ovarian and cycle support is the 40:1 myo to D-chiro-inositol ratio established in the clinical literature. EX1 ships myo-inositol at 3 g in that ratio.

  4. Iron-free multivitamins for post-menopausal women

Post-menopausal iron requirements drop. A women's 40+ formulation typically omits iron to avoid unnecessary loading.
